Base: All 1018 steel mig welded construction, Black oxide finish with electronics mounted securely on drawer in the cabinet

Gantry: All 6061-T6 aluminum construction for lighter weight, increased strength and speed, Hard gold anodized finish for durability

Bridge: 6061-T6 Aluminum Tig welded construction machined square to very close tolerance.

Linear system: V-rail system designed in house from O-1 tool steel. The ways are adjustable and provide very stable precise motion with almost no friction or resisitance. Enabling the WD to attain its very high rapid speeds.

Drive system: All three axis use precision rolled ballscrews hardened to 65-72 rockwell. Accuracy and repeatability are +/- .001". Y axis which is the gantry travel uses two ballscrews the entire length of the machine. They are clocked together through a timing belt to stay in perfect unison with one another. This prevents the gantry ends from floating and racking under cutter load. The result is a machine that will cut accurately and always in square for projects such as cabinet doors where 90 degrees must be 90 degrees. The HS is built on this same principle. One of the nice features of this design are the way the ballscrews are concealed from dust and debris. The Y axis ballscrews are inside the base and X ballscrew is inside the bridge. This keeps the mechanism running clean and maintanence free for many years of trouble free service.
